Clarence supports Movember

After decking themselves out in pink to support Pink Ribbon Day, Clarence Colliery decided to get back in touch with their more masculine side by taking up the Movember challenge.

With moustaches sprouting across the site, Clarence Colliery and mining contractor, Valley Longwall International helped raise funds for Movember, which increases the Nation's awareness of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Beyondblue: the national depression initiative.

“We see Movember as another great way to support men’s health and is an extension of our support and fundraising work we did earlier this year with Centennial’s donation of $40,000 towards the Prostate Machine at the Lithgow Hospital,” said Centennial’s Greg Shields.

Not content to let any ‘old mo’ do, Clarence Colliery employees really upped the ante with some moustaches going beyond the traditional ‘handle bar’ style to include multiple colours and some serious side burns.

Clarence Colliery and Valley Longwall International have pooled their charitable efforts together to help raise a combined total of $15, 000 to contribute towards Movember and Pink Ribbon Day.
