The Rylstone showground was abuzz with the Rylstone/Kandos Family Fun Day kicking off for its second year.
“It was wonderful to see so many children and their parents enjoying the day,” said Kylie Fuller, Charbon’s Commercial Service Officer.
“There were so many activities for the kids and parents alike and it is a fantastic way to show the community what’s on offer in our local area,” she said.
With close to 800 people attending the event, the Family Fun Day included stalls from local businesses and services as well as an array of entertainment and activities organised by the Local Rural Fire Service. There was also a rugby league skills session to encourage activity and promote healthy lifestyles.
The Family Fun Day aims to provide local businesses and services the opportunity to meet community members and provide information regarding family health and how to access the relevant services.
“The event was a great success with nearly double the community involvement than previous years. The kids had a ball learning and participating in the activities,” said Event Organiser, Marian Mirie.
This year Centennial Coal supported the Fun Day’s entertainment which included the local band Blind Date and a jumping castle.
