CLARENCE CLEAN-UP COMPLETE

Centennial Coal welcomes confirmation from the NSW EPA that conditions of the Clean-Up Notice have now been fully completed to their satisfaction and as a consequence the clean-up operation of the Wollangambe River is complete.

Looking forward, Centennial will continue to monitor the recovery of the Wollangambe River environment for two and half years.

Over the 12 months since the incident occurred, Clarence has worked closely with the EPA and OEH in undertaking the clean-up and has appreciated the oversight and cooperation of both agencies.

As a result of the incident at Clarence Colliery (2 July 2015), the EPA commenced prosecution proceedings in the Land Environment Court in May this year. Centennial Coal has entered a guilty plea to the charges.

Centennial Coal deeply regrets the incident and apologise for its occurrence.
