Lidsdale Siding is located on the northern edge of Wallerawang. The site has been continually used as a coal storage and rail loading facility since 1974.
The site is primarily used to export coal from Centennial’s Western Region mines to Port Kembla Coal Terminal. Coal is delivered to Lidsdale Siding via an overland conveyor linked to the Springvale Coal Services site.
The train loading process is automated following the establishment of underground reclaimers to the coal stockpile, which feed a conveyor taking coal to a train loading bin. The loading facility is licenced to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
