Springvale is located in the western coalfields near Lithgow in New South Wales. Coal is produced using underground longwall mining methods and is transferred by conveyor to the surface facilities area, where it is either transported by dedicated overland conveyor to Mt Piper and Wallerawang power stations or processed for export at Centennial’s Western Main facility. Last year, the majority of coal produced was transported by train to Port Kembla for export to overseas customers.
This year, Springvale has reached a major milestone and celebrated 20 years of operation. The mine has a strong history of supporting the local community through sponsorship of local community organisations, schools, and events as well providing local job opportunities.
