The Recruitment Process

Main Content

At Centennial we are committed to employing and retaining the best people. Our selection process not only ascertains whether you have the skills we are looking for, but also provides you with the opportunity to decide if we are the right fit for you.

The selection process requires you to progress through a number of stages:

  1. Online application
  2. Interview
  3. Cognitive abilities and behavioural traits assessments
  4. Reference checks
  5. Pre-employment medical
  6. Offer of employment

1. Online Application

To apply for a position at Centennial all applications must go through the e-recruitment system BigRedSky. After clicking through to the Apply Now section on the Current Opportunities page please follow the prompts to submit all relevant information for the position you are applying for so that we can properly consider your application.

2. Interviews

If you are selected for an interview, at least one member of the recruitment / interview panel will have expertise in, or have the skills necessary, for the role you are applying for. The first round interview may take place over the phone or in person and typically lasts for around one hour. This first round interview is designed for us to get a good understanding of you as an individual, the skills that you may possess and other areas of interest.

3. Psychometric Testing (or Assessment)

Psychometric tests are completed within our e-recruitment system. You will be directed to BigRedSky at the appropriate time. These tests will allow us to assess your ability and personality in:

  • Numerical reasoning
  • Verbal reasoning
  • Abstract reasoning
  • Behavioural / concentration traits
  • Dependability and safety

4. Reference Checks

During the recruitment process you will be asked to provide the contact details of at least two referees (these should preferably be current employment referees). Centennial may also source other references if required.

5. Pre-Employment Medical

At Centennial, we put your safety first - so the pre-employment medical will determine if you are physically capable of carrying out the work required in the role you are applying for.

6. Offers of Employment

After the recruitment and selection process, the successful applicant will be offered a contract with Centennial.
