Centennial Coal believes in investing in the communities in which our mines operate. Therefore, we sponsor local events, organisations or activities in the Western Coalfields around Lithgow and communities located on the western side of Lake Macquarie.

Our people live locally and are an important part of the community. We also believe we should support local activities which promote engagement with our workforce.

Centennial is proudly geographically parochial.

To provide practical support for this fantastic grassroots community service our own employees now deliver Meals on Wheels each month at Toronto and Morisset.

Lithgow Flash Gift

Lithgow Flash Gift

The Lithgow Flash Gift is the showcase event for one of Australia’s richest women’s foot races.  Established in 2008, Centennial Coal was an inaugural sponsor of the event which celebrates Marjorie Jackson’s hometown ties with Lithgow when she was securing Olympic and Commonwealth gold medal success in the 1950’s.

Centennial’s employees have embraced the event with a strong and successful presence each year in the team events.

The Rotary Club of Toronto Sunrise’s annual Paddlefest event has raised over $50,000 for local charities in the six years since its inception. Centennial continues to be a proud major sponsor of this local event and each year, enters teams to compete in the Dragon Boat and Outrigging events. Centennial also sponsors local schools to compete in the Team Challenge events.
