2013 will mark the beginning of an exciting career for eight lucky local apprentices and trainees who are due to commence their training across Centennial’s Western operations in the coming weeks.
Centennial’s new recruits will be working in Electrical and Mechanical fields. Also in Stores and Administration. During this time practical experience will be gained while working across Centennial’s Angus Place, Charbon, Clarence, Springvale operations as well as the Regional Office, Lidsdale House.
“We believe that offering these apprenticeships and traineeships will provide a solid foundation for successful applicants to gain qualifications to commence and develop their careers, whether that is in the mining industry, or elsewhere in the longer term,” said Craig Gillard, Group Industrial Relations Manager.
The Apprentices are due to start at Lithgow TAFE on the 21st of January, spending one day a week gaining theoretical knowledge, followed by four days of hands on practical experience at both the TAFE’s Skills Centre and at a Centennial operations.
“We welcome these new recruits to Centennial and look forward to working with Skillset to provide them with mentoring and training programs to assist them to successfully complete their courses,” concluded Craig.
